Nathan Ehmer, DO


Dr. Nathan Ehmer is a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon with over 10 years of experience and serves as the Medical Director of Orthopedic Trauma at MarinHealth Medical Center. He graduated from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed orthopedic residency at Botsford Hospital in Michigan, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Ehmer then completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at San Francisco General Hospital/UCSF, where he developed an interest in the complex management of pelvic fractures. Prior to joining California Orthopedics and Spine, Dr. Ehmer spent 10 years at the Santa Rosa Orthopedic Medical Group. He also served as Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. During his tenure in Santa Rosa, he was the Chair of Orthopedics and a committee member of the orthopedic and trauma service lines.

Dr. Ehmer is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, American Osteopathic Association, Health Volunteers Overseas, and Orthopedic Trauma Association. As an expert in orthopedic trauma, Dr. Ehmer serves as an examiner for the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Ehmer’s understanding of complex pelvic reconstruction for fractures has also allowed him to become an expert in total joint hip replacement using the minimally invasive anterior approach.
